| We left London
Heathrow in the evening, flying east. By the time the sun rose we
had been flying over Russia for some time. The landscape below looked
very bleak, the only colours were grey and white, and very cold.
There are faint straight lines crossing the countryside, but I do not know
what they are.
It took 8 hours to cross Russia, in a modern 747, at speeds of up to 1000kph. Makes you appreciate just how vast the country is! |
