In the 1940's Private Edward Leonski (Reb Brown) murdered several women.

Nick Seymour was the "art designer and set decorator" of this "soon-to-be-released" (1986) film, according to the introduction to "Crowded House (album music)".

"Something So Strong" (pp41-2) tells of Nick watching TV during a break from working on the movie and seeing Neil Finn and Paul Hester telling an interviewer about a band they were going to form after Split Enz. Nick took a day off from working on The Leonski Incident to go to audition for what would eventually become Crowded House.

On the set of the Leonski Incident, Nick had been responsible for making sure that props were available when they were needed, and had been training as a make up artist.

However, I haven't found any trace of a movie called The Leonksi Incident in any of the movie reference books I've looked in, nor on the Internet Movie Database. "Private Universe", mentions it, but doesn't give any more information than in "Crowded House (album music)". Two web pages about Bill Hunter include The Leonski Incident in his credits.

Someone very kindly e-mailed me to say this movie may have been released as Death of a Soldier (1986) which has a character Edward J. Leonski in it. Bill Hunter plays Detective Sergeant Adams in this movie. I e-mailed the address on the Morrissey Management page about Bill Hunter and got a reply that The Leonski Incident and The Brown Out Incident were the original titles, later changed, of Death Of A Soldier.
