The bmi database gives the song writers of "Soul Ecstasy" as: Wade Durham, Dan Rothchild, Stephen Larry Salas and Matt Sherrod.
"Soul Ecstasy" is supposedly from a blaxploitation movie also called "Soul Ecstasy" made in 1972. The story goes that the only print was lost in a fire, but the soundtrack survived. Matt Sherrod would have been aged four at the time! The soundtrack was released in 1999.
