I Am Sam (US 2001)

Sam Dawson (Sean Penn), who has the mental age of a seven year old, works at a Starbucks and has an obsession with the Beatles. With the help of neighbours he has brought up his daughter, Lucy Diamond Dawson (Dakota Fanning) since Lucy's mother abandoned them both after Lucy's birth. Lucy, now eight is having problems at school because of her father's limitations and the authorities take her into care.

Rita Harrison (Michelle Pfeiffer) is the lawyer Sam persuades to take on his case to get Lucy back.

There seem to be five different CD's for I Am Sam:-

Four versions of "Music from and inspired by":-
- 17 track - not including Neil and Liam - which may have the same catalogue number as the 20 track release
- 19 track including Neil and Liam that won't play on PC's (VVR1019418)
- 20 track including Neil and Liam that may say on the label that it won't play on PC's, but in fact does (so I've been told on good authority - my copy plays on my PC) (VVR1019412)
- 21 track including Neil and Liam (Japan) (V2CP122)
  - Available from hmv.co.jp
  - There is a disclaimer, in Japanese, warning that the CD is copy protected and will not play on PC's.
John Powell's original score (which may or may not be released until April)
- John Powell and Harry Gregson-Williams wrote the score for Antz (US 1998)

The version of Two Of Us sung by Aimee Mann and Michael Penn is on all copies of the soundtrack album, so it is probably the one used in the movie. (The CD label 'music from and inspired by' implies that not all of it is from the movie.)

Two Of Us appears twice in the film Let It Be (UK 1970) - rehearsal and complete song.

Michelle Pfeiffer was in Tequila Sunrise (US 1988)
