Walkshort
1987
|
A
man walking along Karangahape Road in Auckland is kicked in the shins by
a stranger setting off an apparent chain of chance encounters.
First Front
Lawn film, directed by William Toefper. Length, 10 minutes, 16mm.
All the characters in the film were played by Don McGlashan and Harry Sinclair.
There's a photo of them in Film In Aotearoa New Zealand, Ed. Jonathan
Dennis and Jan Bieringa, Victoria University Press, 1996. The book says
of Walk Short:-
- "...a brilliant
comic narrative that kept shooting off in new directions as people bumped
into one another on a city street. The bewildering range of characters
were all played by the two actors. Their [The Front Lawn] other films
such as Lounge Bar (1988), based on a popular
Front Lawn song, and Linda's Body
(1990), a
comedy about an out-of-body experience, have successfully combined wild
flights of fancy with a shrewd, satirical eye for local detail."

Some of this information
came from the old Kiwi Rock web site - the singles - I have the albums.
Although it listed the band members as Don McGlashan, Alistair Sinclair
and Jennifer Ward-Lealand, I think the rest of the material was reasonably
accurate.
